Jodhpur Tour Packages
Kheechan is a small village placed 150 kms from Jodhpur and 5 kms from Phalodi. The place is famous for its natural bird sanctuary to the migratory bird 'Kurjan'. Kurjan belongs to South Western Europe, Ukraine, Black sea, Poland, Kazakhstan, North and South Africa and Mongolia. When Europe's temperature falls down and the cold becomes unendurable these birds migrate to India. While flying they make a lot of noise and make kurr-kurr sound, thus they are called 'kurjan', 'karkara' and 'kunch'. Every year these birds migrate to Kheechan (India) in flocks and form a natural bird sanctuary. After the cold winter season is over the birds return back to Europe leaving Kheechan absolutely deserted and an arid piece of land.
Kheechan is a wonderful natural setting that makes for a compelling reason to visit this place. Although Jodhpur in its entirety, is so mesmerising but this small village near it makes it all the more delightful and attracts tourists from all across the world.
